Liverpool singer-songwriter Addley brings relatability, personality and ethereal electronica to his tracks. Taking influence from Florence & The Machine and London Grammar, his tracks are just as immense live as on the record, thanks to a dynamic five-piece set-up. With a string of exciting singles in 2024, the buzz around Addley has grown and grown.
In an EP that encapsulates all the vibrant, emotional and unexpected moments of a night you’ll remember, Addley’s We Can’t Talk For Hours brings unique synthesis, glorious pop infectiousness and a constantly pulsating undertone. Addley’s blends of natural and electronic sounds create a swirling sonic portrait, forging a dazed, intoxicating atmosphere through flying climaxes and melancholic lows.
From the punchy dancefloor anthem that starts the project to the wistful self-discovery of ‘Blue & Gold’, onto the love-blinded cries of ‘Say It Anyway’, before the euphoric energy of ‘Take Me Home’, Addley constantly brings out most of his writing. Catharsis, emotion and understanding, under the anthems, lies a deeper emotional connection.
“This EP is a collection of songs written with a dance floor in mind and they’re mostly about escapism, desire and loneliness. The songs here are confessional, in some ways obvious and others not, but cathartic, showing how nightlife, dance floors & all that comes with it has been a release for me – sometimes in an unhealthy way.”
