“We are living longer, but are we living at all?”
Today, the incredible LA-based Montana native Alt Bloom, aka Ethan Thompson, is back with the release of his brand new single and first release of the year – Tired. After a fantastic 2020 that saw him deliver a dazzling series of releases, from his debut EP Astronaut Complex to collabing with gnash on text talk touch, and taking the music scene by a storm; Tired is the start of a brand new chapter for Ethan and his unique brand of Alt-Pop artistry. Showing no signs of slowing down, and already amassing over 7 million streams on Spotify alone, 2021 is sure to be another stellar year for the talented artist. A vibey and laid back track, Tired is certainly not one to miss; and we can’t wait to see what incredible music and releases Ethan has in store for us next this year.
Pulling inspiration from the frustrating and overwhelming feeling of being ‘sick and tired’ over a relationship that went sour; inspired and emerging from lockdown life, Tired kicks off with a stunning live acoustic instrumental that instantly brings you into the ambience and atmosphere of the track, delivering a classic Alt Bloom kind of vibe. As the intro plays out and fades into the main body of the song, Ethan’s soulful and emotive vocals emerge onto the musical landscape, instantly capturing the attention of listeners and bringing you deeper into the sonic world of the track. And accompanying his smooth vocal cadences is the perfectly paired instrumental that flows rhythmically beneath his enchanting harmonies; featuring an array of percussive melodies, guitar lines and ambient beats that all come together to create an unmissable alt-pop hit.
Talking about the song and the meaning behind it, Ethan explains:
“To me, the song is about being tired of the emotions that stem from a broken heart. There’s a mosaic of memories in there from different heart breaks of mine.”
