Back on the music scene following the release of their 2019 album Time Hasn’t Changed You, rising Toronto-based rock band Altameda have been delivering some incredible new singles this year. And last week, they delivered their brand new track Wheel Of Love; released via the label Modern Sky UK. Their second single of the year, following on from Dead Man’s Suit, and the second to be taken from their forthcoming album – set for release next spring – Wheel Of Love works as a perfect re-introduction to Altameda and the next step in their musical journey. With exciting new music on the horizon, we can expect incredible things from Altameda as we head into 2022.
Marking the beginning of a brand new era for Altameda, Wheel Of Love is a delicate and emotive indie-rock led track that is a perfect new addition to their growing discography. Drawing on emotions and experiences that have emerged out of the pandemic, Wheel Of Love perfectly captures a sense of wistful nostalgia as the band reflect on both loneliness and the passage of time. With an immersive and enchanting atmosphere, the soundscape features a range of stunning melodies and instrumentals that incorporate delicate sliding guitar riffs, gentle percussive beats and soaring string arrangements alongside warm and honeyed vocals.
“After initial plans to record our album in 2020 fell through due to the pandemic, we were left with a large window to continue the writing process. The feeling of isolation, and uncertainty at this time left me longing for some kind of safety net. This led me to conceptualize the idea of a “Wheel of Love” as a touchstone for anyone who feels alone, or in pain. It is something that will spin and roll on forever.”
