Indie newcomer And The Sunset Burns are seeking to continue an upward trajectory, unveiling their latest single, ‘Primrose Hill’, with a fire lit underneath them. Mixing rock, indie and Latin influences, the Anglo-Spanish quartet have been building an audience since 2023. Formed by childhood friends, vocalist Danny and bassist Isma, it was after a move to London that the band completed their lineup with drummer Ruben and guitarist Alex.
Continuing to build a sense of emotionally charged writing and a style that effortlessly blends genres, ‘Primrose Hill’ brings an extra indie twang to a contemporary glow. Though their influence seems fuelled with nostalgia, the band combine youthful energy with lyrical wisdom.
A pumping backbeat behind the ringing out of vocals and guitar, sprinkled with delicate vocalisations, it’s invigorating, dynamic and radiant.
Danny shares an insight, “Primrose Hill was where I found space to reflect in the first few weeks after having moved to London from Spain. This period served as inspiration for the song, which discusses striking the balance between solitude and companionship. The song speaks to the idea that everything we need in life is within ourselves, but true meaning comes when we share that with others. It’s a special place for us, and I’m sure many others too.”
