Benedict offers up thrilling new single ‘Wake Up’

Melbourne singer-songwriter Benedict is calling humanity to action on their atmospheric pop anthem ‘Wake Up’. Benedict has a powerful musical presence, accentuating their lyrical plea for understanding and peace with a thought-provoking and emotive music video that features powerful metaphoric visuals and hard-hitting clips of historical protests, highlighting the inequalities in our society.

As a non-binary artist, Benedict’s message comes from a very real place. Elaborating on the track they say: Wake Up is a people’s anthem.  I saw a need to speak out for all peoples, all nations with the shocking things we have witnessed over the last few years, through government issues, wars, COVID-19, Black Lives Matter and injustices for the LGBTGIA+ community.  We all fight one another, but what is the truth?  The truth is that we are all human.  If we can come together, break down fear, lies, and fight the division, we will be free.”

‘Wake Up’ also boasts a mix from NYC-based producer Lee Groves (Madonna, Depeche Mode) and production from Dean Tuza. The result is a celestial sound infused with cinematic strings, heartbeat-reminiscent rhythms and the urge to get up and make a change.
