Following up the release of their latest new single, BRIGHTSIDE, last week; The Lumineers have come back with some stunning new visuals to accompany the track. The first video for the title song off their upcoming album BRIGHTSIDE, the band are continuing their journey toward the album release which is set to drop January next year.
Talking about the music video, the band’s Wesley Schultz explains:
“The BRIGHTSIDE music video is like a documentary of the American love story. It features all real people – none of the people that appear in it are actors.”
An emotive and heart-felt video, centred around the universal theme of love and relationships; the video explores and showcases this through the love stories of people of different ages, ethnicities and orientations. Directed by noted documentarian filmmaker Kyle Thrash, the video begins with some real-life documentary footage of couples and individuals answering the question of what love means to them, before transitioning to delving into stunning, cinematic depictions, and visual reflections and expressions, of love. A mesmerizing montage-style sequence, we also see the band appear in the video – performing at a dance in an American Legion Hall.
