Yesterday, LA pop singer-songwriter CAPPA released her brand new single Colder, the second single taken from her forthcoming 2021 EP.
Emerging onto the music scene back in 2015 with her debut single Hush, rising electro-pop singer-songwriter Carla Cappa – better known by her artist name CAPPA – came back yesterday with her vibrant new release Colder. Hailing from Philadelphia, her unique and captivating artistry presents an irresistible fusion of enchanting vocals, addictive hooks, and synth-led beats, alongside an expertly crafted and atmospheric production. The second track off of her upcoming EP, set for release later this year; Colder is the beginning of a brand new chapter for CAPPA
With a catchy yet clever pop beat that runs throughout, Colder delivers a narrative that reflects the emptiness at the end of a relationship with someone truly irreplaceable. Opening the track is an addictive and up-tempo pop instrumental, laid alongside vibrant and energetic synth melodies and dynamic percussive beats, before CAPPA’s vocals emerge onto the sonic landscape. The latest example of her dazzling pop stylings, the rhythmic instrumentation is accompanied by CAPPA’s warm and honeyed vocals that float effortlessly across the soundscape; showcasing her artistic skill and talent.
Talking about the meaning and inspiration behind the track, CAPPA explains:
“I wrote this song about when you’re going through a breakup and trying to replace the person but nothing quite feels the same. You want to feel a warm body next to you but it never feels quite like it did with the person you were in love with.”
With the promise of exciting new music ahead, keep your eyes and ears peeled for the forthcoming release of her 2021 EP later this year.
