In the music world, there is a new trend of reviving the sounds of yesterday. Some bands get this right, and some bands get close enough, but one of the bands that is showing them all how it’s done is Caring Less. Hailing from Philadelphia, the band is truly carving a sound of their own. Looking towards the summer, they release their new single ‘So Sick’ ahead of their EP at the end of May.

Leaning into a post-punky, raspy backbeat, the single carefully follows driven guitar strums whilst a rich vocal sings stories over the top. Its magnetic charm seems to take cues from the likes of Elliot Smith and Phoebe Bridgers, whilst not forgetting the nostalgic, almost retrospective glow courtesy of Alanis Morissette and PJ Harvey. That is the most exciting thing about this band, there’s so much packed into just one single – be it emotion, melody or overall aura. I, for one, am very excited for this new EP, and you should be too.

Recalling the creative processes behind the single, the band shares, Our new single, ‘So Sick’ evolved from an improvised jam at band practice into a bouncy rock anthem that blends our 90’s alternative influences with raw lyrics that blur pain and desire over jangly guitars and a restless beat.”
