Casey Carmichael shares testament to fatherhood ‘Little Birds’

Providing intimate folk rhythms with sonorous vocals and warm acoustic guitar melodies, Casey Carmichael pays homage to the wonder of the music he was raised around, hailing from Columbia, South Carolina. He takes influence from Eric Clapton and BB King, becoming one with his instrument, utilising his training from Berklee College of Music to share deeply emotive music with the world.

‘Little Birds’, Casey’s latest release speaks to parenthood, inspired by his daughter, and provides a tender look through the keyhole at the pang of love he feels in the little moments.

Starting his sound with layers of acoustic guitar, this track lets Casey slowly expand his sound, allowing gentle percussion, rich bass lines, and twinling melodies from the keys and electric guitar to infuse the love with music.

As the track ends, Casey includes a short clip of his daughter, bringing home all the words and sonics to reality, a testament to his fatherhood.

Casey adds, “This song was inspired by our two year old daughter. She was only three months old when I wrote it, but I was already fearful of her growing up too fast. But since then it has been beautiful watching her learn and grow. She has all that she needs inside of her to spread her wings; my wife and I are so proud to be her parents.”
