Quickly following up ‘Carry Me’, Chasey The Illest is back with his new single ‘Tweakin’ as he looks to further embellish himself as an exciting new hip-hop talent. Sticking to his distinctive brand of emphatic flows, the Detroit-born rapper continues to make strides in the industry.
Coupling percussive backbeats with sharp lyricism, ‘Tweakin’ explores life’s comings and goings through a drug-fuelled lens. Taking this explicit approach, Chasey illustrates his masterful grasp of rhythm and rhyme. As the track pushes on, its intensity builds and builds, contributing to an aura that feels both creatively intense and distinctively chasey.
“Tweakin’ is a song that details my own anxieties and experiences throughout life through various drug references, smooth beat switches, and stands as an ode to the first time I got high and tweaked out. It is the outro to my soon-to-be-released EP “Cirrus Clouds”. I first performed ‘Tweakin’ on ‘On The Radar Radio’ and it was the first time anyone had ever heard it. The reception was great. Myself and my homie/producer of the record, DJ Icee, decided going on OTR was the perfect time to showcase the song to the world, knowing On The Radar has such a huge platform.”
