Features Music Videos

Director’s Cut: Hannah Lux Davis

For those behind the camera…

As well as the talented artists and musicians who bring you your favourite tracks; there are also some incredible directors, producers and videographers who work behind the scenes, to put together these incredible songs, albums, and the stunning visuals to go along with them. This week, it’s all about one particular director who’s work is everywhere right now, and has truly stamped her mark on the creative world.

If you’re not familiar with the name Hannah Lux Davis; guaranteed, you’ll definitely be familiar with her work. Working with an array of people, from music artists such as Ariana Grande, MGK and Halsey, to olympian sports figure Alex Morgan, and other influential people such as Kylie Jenner; Hannah is a music video, commercial and film director, responsible for directing some of the biggest music videos right now, and is killing the game with her striking imagery, and iconic vision.

Most renown for directing music videos with stunning visuals and uniquely creative concepts, this is where we see some of her most notable work. Over the last few years, this has included Halsey’s iconic Nightmare music video, Marshmello and Anne-Marie’s Friends, and Ciara’s I Bet. Along with this, Hannah was also the director for Demi Lovato’s documentary film, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated; highlighting her versatility as a director, and skill within documentary film making. And of course, you can’t mention Hannah without mentioning perhaps the biggest music video of 2018/19, and of recent years; Ariana Grande’s Thank You, Next video masterpiece.

So check out some of my personal favourites down below, and don’t forget to keep up with Hannah on social media @HannahLuxDavis
