Discover the magic of Ellen Woloshin’s latest album ‘Pop Torch’

Ellen Woloshin released her latest album, ‘Pop Torch’, which is a captivating blend of nostalgic charm and modern finesse, making it a must-listen for fans of artists such as Eva Cassidy and Carly Simon. This third solo effort showcases Woloshin’s ability to reinterpret jazz classics like “You Forgot Your Gloves” and “Cheek to Cheek” with a fresh, contemporary touch. Adding to the allure are her original ballads, such as “Keep Your Heart” and “You and a Blue Moon,” which brim with heartfelt lyricism and enchanting melodies. Each track on the album takes listeners on a journey of musical excellence, featuring stirring piano accompaniments, rhythmic drum arrangements, and the occasional passionate cry of a saxophone melody, all supporting Ellen’s spellbinding vocals.

Ellen elaborates on the album’s concept, stating, “If you take a bunch of disparate beads and string them together to make a necklace, what would the finished product look like? That’s the concept behind this album. I took songs from various genres and decades, some of my own, some by others, with the hope that in the end, that necklace would come together as a unique statement of its own. I hope you enjoy the result!”

Ellen’s musical journey began in childhood, influenced by her father, the renowned jingle writer Sid Woloshin. She honed her craft through years of classical piano studies and early performances. Transitioning from jingle writing to a full-fledged music career, Ellen has penned songs for legendary artists like Dionne Warwick and LaToya Jackson. Her extensive performance history includes opening for Laura Nyro and gracing stages across major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Nashville. Additionally, Ellen contributes to Music Connection Magazine, offering her seasoned insights into live shows and the music industry, further solidifying her status as a versatile and accomplished artist.
