Returning with her highly anticipated album Hearts Get Started, Ebony Buckle is marking a new chapter in her career, looking back to her origins and pushing them into the future. Building on the eclectic and genre-bending artistry of her discography so far, she weaves the broad expansions of folk, blues rock and pop, recording in a more adventurous mindset than ever before.
The Australian-born, London-base queen of conceptual pop creates immersive experiences, reflecting the struggle of emotion and desire through songs that pull from life’s highest highs and lowest lows. A waltz through an unlimited roll of settings, Ebony puts storytelling at the centre and uses it to highlight her own personal growth.
Ebony adds, “This album is a collection of songs written over several years, some of them being my oldest. It feels a little like a puzzle, with each song being its own world and story. When you put them together, they are stepping stones along the way of my musical adventure. I like to think of it as a prequel to our first album Disco Lasers – it’s all the music that got me to that point.”
In celebration of the release, she is performing the album live at the Camden Club, offering fans an intimate experience of her work.
