Back with another stunning indie-pop banger; rising duo Eighty Ninety, the project of brothers Abner (vocals, production) and Harper (guitar, production) James, have dropped another brand new track and their third single of the year – Face Like A Sunset.
Delivering more of the classic Eighty Ninety energy and aesthetic that fans have come to know and love, Face Like A Sunset is another beautifully crafted indie-pop production that boasts their signature rhythmic “808s and telecaster” beats, perfectly paired alongside delicate instrumentals, light synths and Abner’s emotive and enchanting vocals. And with the captivating minimalistic soundscape making a seamless backdrop for the poignant lyricism and poetic songwriting that runs throughout, there is a truly irresistible summer feel to the song.
Talking about the new single, Abner explains:
“It’s a song about the little moments when you realize you’re falling in love, and how the very moment you realize you want to spend forever with someone, you begin to feel the press of time. A sunset is beautiful partly because you know it won’t last.”
