‘Exit Scene’ is the warming new EP from leroybroughtflowers

Receiving praise from Spotify editorials, BBC Introducing and the music press, leroybroughtflowers has steadily forged a new angle for a blend of hip-hop, jazz, RnB and lo-fi. Since his 2020 debut the London-based, Greek-born songwriter has infused his music with sleek grooves and glowing tones.

His latest EP/mini album Exit Scene, is no different filling the album with subtle filters, crackling samples and honest lyricism. Bouncy bass lines and gentle drums give you everything from warm, contemporary RnB backdrops to a gentle Bossa Nova groove, on top of which leroybroughtflowers expands his outlook with vocal melodies that feel absolutely spellbinding.

Reflective and melancholic, but with a radiating sunniness, it’s a sound that lets you lie back and just enjoy the vibe.

Leroy shares, “The EP embodies a ‘cart postale’ from London to Greece answering the questions of how I’m holding up, what I have been doing and what it means to leave your hometown to chase your dreams. While writing the EP, it became an escape route, a map, and an emergency exit. I kept the phrase “You don’t know where you’re going if you don’t know where you have been” at heart, but time makes us forget that and that’s why these songs exist. Exit Scene picks the concepts of transition and change, closure, reflection, and escapism, and the realization that the summer has ended”
