Frizzy P & Mr Cole share the thoughtful ‘The Bigger Man Sank’

Trip-hop duo Frizzy P & Mr Cole have returned with another album teaser for Ladi Dadi III in ‘The Bigger Man Sank’. Jazz-tinged, psychedelic and blending vintage textures with smooth lyricism, the track continues to establish the pair as one of the most distinctive underground alt-hip-hop voices.

Hypnotic synths and percussion alongside warm analogue tones, the track explores social pressure themes of power, collapse and resistance, as well as the role of women. They add, “THE BIGGER MAN SANK’ speaks of a world where those in power eventually fall, but where the forgotten voices keep singing. There’s a tension between strength and collapse, between hope and inevitability.”

The track’s inspiration stems from the Brett Kavanaugh trial, continuing, “It made me sick. I had deep admiration for Christine Blasey Ford. It’s a topic that didn’t stay in the public’s mind for long, but it hit me hard.”

Formed in 2015 in the suburbs of Paris, the Anglo-French pair fused the old school with the soul-stirring new school. Earning praise time and again, they continue to rise as powerful and conscious storytellers.
