With a unique sound and captivating sonic style, Georgia Black delivers a sultry jazz-R&B led track with her latest release Repeat & Play.
Born and raised in London, rising artist Georgia Black is back with her second release of the year; with her latest single Repeat & Play, released at the end of last month. Delivering a contemporary blues sound, Georgia’s artistry has been heavily influenced by the likes of Shirley Bassey, Etta James and Peggy Lee. Since her emergence onto the music scene in 2015, with her debut single Will I Be Waiting?; she has since being honing and developing her sound, infusing elements of jazz, blues and soul that she grew up with.
“Georgia wrote “Repeat & Play” at a time in her life when she felt stuck, like a record on repeat – in the same never-ending cycle, not achieving her goals, in relationships, seeing the same awful things happening in the world, and with general life dissatisfaction. Through effortless, smoky vocals, haunting harmonies and mellow melodies, the musician has crafted a laid-back song to ease the soul”.
Opening the track is a vibrant guitar note, leading into a captivating melody that runs throughout the song. Alongside this is a stunning and intoxicating instrumental that brings together elements of Jazz, soul and R&B. With a gentle and immersive soundscape, the hypnotic melody draws you further into the sonic landscape with its soulful and emotive energy. As the track progresses, dynamic blues instrumentals – that introduce subtle and mesmerizing sax notes – and rhythmic basslines, weave their way throughout the musical composition; as Georgia’s enchanting and lustrous vocal’s glide effortlessly atop the musical refrain.
The next step in Georgia’s artistic journey, Repeat & Play is an enchanting new track that makes a perfect edition for all your fall and winter playlists. To keep up with Georgia’s artistic journey, and all her latest new and releases; find her on all her socials @iamgeorgiablack
