Hayley Biegel – ‘What You Forgot’

Today, rising artist Hayley Biegel follows up her sophomore 2020 release as she delivers her brand new single What You Forgot.

Back today with a brand new release, NYC-based singer-songwriter Hayley Biegel has been making waves within the music scene since the release of her debut single The Morning in 2019. Delivering a brand of artistry that is both candid and real, Hayley creates music that holds up a mirror to her trauma and reflects vulnerability and strength; taking the hard and unpleasant feelings and turning them into something beautiful. Embarking on her musical journey from an early age, she started studying piano at 5 and voice at 12, continuing to study vocal performance at NYU. Since creating her own band in 2019 and performing her original music, her sound is filled with powerful indie-folk pop melodies and skilled lyricism, inspired by the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, Bon Iver and the Indigo Girls; with Hayley delivering narratives that draw upon failed love, queer love and navigating your twenties. With her first release of 2021, she showcases the latest example of her multi-talented artistry; as today, she releases her brand new single What You Forgot

Opening the track is a stunning an atmospheric instrumental that runs throughout, before Hayley’s vocals emerge onto the sweet and soft sonic landscape. With a delicate and emotive instrumental as the vibrant backdrop, Hayley’s powerful and anthemic vocals are undoubtedly the stand out feature of the song; showcasing her dazzling skill and talent. As Hayley’s vocals weave their way throughout the soundscape, her melodic vocal cadences and gentle harmonies deliver a real sense of emotion and power to the captivating ballad; bringing you further into her sonic world. Initially debuted last year, the track was written to honour Grace Holland Cozine who struggled with her mental health, eventually losing her battle with eating disorders in December 2018. A beautiful and enchanting tribute, Hayley wanted to write the song as a means of expressing the duality of being both fierce and soft, and how mental health struggles are not linear – a narrative that is sure to resonate with many, especially in these current times.

Back with a brand new release, Hayley is set for an exciting 2021 and more new music on the horizon. So make sure to keep up with rising trajectory and musical journey on all her socials:
