Introducing their unique brand of artistry, emerging duo Tacsidermi released their debut single Gwir earlier this month.
Delivering their first official offering; emerging Welsh duo Tacsidermi released their debut single Gwir earlier this month. Comprised of Gwenllian Anthony, from Welsh Music Prize winning band Adwaith, and Matthew Kilgariff; Gwir delivers a captivating and psychedelic listen, introducing us to Tacsidermi’s sonic sound and style. A perfect fusion of both Anthony and Adwaith’s artistic influences, the pair draw their inspiration from the likes of bands and artists such as The Breeders and Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Introducing the track is a stunning and captivating instrumental, that exudes a mystical and atmospheric essence that shines and runs throughout the rest of the track. With a stunning guitar line at the forefront of the soundscape, this gradually builds as the track progresses, driving the instrumental along. Gliding atop the enchanting melody are a series of gentle and addictive vocal cadences and harmonies that give off a bold, vibrant and anthemic energy. Adding to the soundscape, to create a unique and immersive sonic world that draws you further into the song’s aura with every note, are a perfect blend of layered rhythmic percussive beats and soft synths.
A truly fantastic debut, Tacsidermi have firmly placed themselves as one of 2021’s emerging artists to watch. With the promise of more new music to follow early next year, make sure to keep up with Tacsidermi and their rising trajectory on all their socials:
