Jack Simpson showcases thought-provoking EP ‘Jack Simpson Is Looking Up At The Trees’

North Yorkshire songwriter Jack Simpson is known for his raw interpretations of life, engaging with themes of nature, religion and the day-to-day in his music. Jack is inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Richard Thompson and Steve Earle, sporadically releasing multiple singles and EPs across his career.

The latest EP from the artist is the six-track project ‘Jack Simpson Is Looking Up At The Trees’. With a sound at the intersection of singer-songwriter folk and classic rock, alongside the occasional glimmer of a pop sensibility, Jack takes on a range of topics, from the seemingly mundane to the deeply spiritual. Nostalgic, rich and always human Jack Simpson delivers astute observations packaged in easy listens.

Jack shares an insight into the project, ”This EP uses songs written over the past 40 years. It varies in context from a simple birthday song to a complex observation of the beauty of nature/God in a tree. In between are songs about babies and spirituality. It is about everything in life.”
