Following on from the release of his glam-filled single ‘EVERYBODY LIKES ME!’ earlier in the year, Johnny Majestic has recently uncovered an accompanying music video to amplify the creative artistry embodied in the track. Providing a flash – yet powerful – background to the dynamic chaos embodied in the track, the music video was additionally directed and written by Majestic himself.
The music video shows Johnny Majestic at his authentic best, leaning into the fun-filled energies and tongue-in-cheek lyricisms present in the single and amplifying them to the nth degree. Proving a colourful, yet authentically gritty, insight into Majestic’s artistry, the video amplifies his dynamic image with a helping of energetic nostalgia.
Speaking about the creative process behind the single, Johnny goes on to explain, “I wrote and recorded the demo for “Everybody Likes Me!” after a night of just acting like an absolute buffoon. I tried getting into a fight at a friend’s party (in a very drunken and awkward way)- and it was also at a time when I just went through a breakup and had a very f**k it approach to basically everything- which is basically what I’m singing about in the song. Specific instances of that, being a drunk high mess that’s getting into fights and breaking people’s hearts. I felt like a pink humanoid cat was a good representative of all those feelings.”
