Katie London shines on new EP ‘Feelings N Stuff’

Dagenham-hailing artist Katie London creates resonating music drenched in authentic emotions. So far in 2024, Katie has re-emerged from her hiatus, releasing a host of music for fans to enjoy, the product of a transformational journey, both personally and in her writing. Working with multi-platinum-selling songwriter Dele Ladimeji, and collaborating with IAMSU, Og Maco, Powfu, Qveen Herby, Krayzie Bone, Stephen Jerzack, Mistah Fab and more, this new direction has seen a wave of support arrive behind her.

Katie’s latest release is her new EP Feelings N Stuff, a three-track self-exploration as she emerges from a relationship with a changed woman. Opening with ‘Loud’, Katie unleashes a personal and emotive track. Vocals are soft, and wistful, still figuring themselves out in the opening moments. Their rise comes soon, the instrumentation building with broad percussion as guitars open up and the piano is re-energised. The synth production fills in the gaps until the final chorus, a climax of tonality and feeling, colossal and cinematic.

‘Memory’ is heartbreaking, the warmth of the bass providing a force to the delicate piano and vocal pairing. Growing into an anthemic pop tune, in the anguish, Katie finds a highlight, beginning the healing process despite the pain of the past. Glimmering production and glowing vocal harmonies, it’s a beautiful stepping stone to the final number ‘Someone To Love’

The EP is rounded out with rock-tinged tones, the chugging distorted guitar setting the tone alongside the signature synth glitter. The vocals gain a bit more grit but soar into positivity, a break-up transforming into the beginning of something new.

The confidence in the project is no mistake, Katie sharing, “‘Feelings N Stuff’ really does what it says on the tin, it’s all my feelings in 3 songs written after I stepped back from being an artist. I wanted to release music that’s been sitting on my computer collecting dust for last past few years and I’m forever sorry to myself for thinking I wasn’t good enough to be an artist! I’m now getting my confidence back and it’s feeling amazing releasing music again!”
