Electro-pop rising star LION is pushing the boundaries of his local Melbourne scene, providing audiences worldwide with distorted, sliding, roaring synthetic melodies and enticing, dynamic vocals.
With the new track ‘Break The Binary,’ LION comes out of the gates charging, choppy, processed vocals filling the airspace alongside chest-thumping kick drums and heavy lead melodies. Each section is like a micro-song within itself, preparing different soundscapes that all lead back to the same focal point of unadulterated and constantly evolving self-expression.
Balancing a club atmosphere with cinematic power, the final moments reach a colossal climax, unleashing the full danceability with one last repeat of the “break the binary” refrain.
LION explains the start of the writing process, “I was inspired by one of my trans pals who talked about boundlessness in one of their Insta captions, from which lyrics just started pouring out of me. I put those lyrics to an unfinished beat I had on my laptop and everything just melded together.”
Since 2023, LION has been releasing high-energy, charismatic anthems, inspiring and paying tribute to his heritage and the LGBTQIA+ in Melbourne.
