Ottawa-based newcomer Maeesha B is a singer and rapper who draws on her French heritage to create her sound. Her talent earned her third place in Music Jeunesse in Quebec, performances at Black History Month galas, and coaching from Shaun Royer and Roy Hamilton.
Maeesha has further honed her craft with coaches like Nick Cooper, known for his work with Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj. Performances at events like the Boys of Summer Tour, Playlist Live, and OBJ X Toronto have established her as an emerging artist to watch.
Maeesha b’s smooth songwriting has reached its most recent peak. The artist brings intention to her latest EP ‘if only u knew’. Not tied down into one distinct genre, she uses the project to showcase her versatility, both on a solo level and as a collaborator.
The different vibes that she traverses make each track across the first listen a journey within itself, a constantly evolving, constantly surprising listen. The lyricism, and the production, are all intricately designed to support Maeesha’s talent, something she shows in spades from start to finish.
