Delivering an eclectic fusion of genre-bending sounds, last month, alt-pop band, Morning Trips delivered their new release – their brand new single My Parade.
Hailing from Fort Walton Beach, Florida-based four-piece Morning Trips first emerged onto the music scene in 2017; delivering their debut single Blue the following year. Fusing together a variety of genres to create a dazzling melting pot of sounds; Morning Trips can be seen to draw upon a range of sonic influences – from dream pop, to R&B, to the ’80s. Talking about his start in music and how the band got together, song-writer and founding member Brady Lynch says; “I was initially inspired by an almost naive approach to writing music on a laptop, if I’m honest. I started producing demos intended for a ‘traditional’ band sound in hopes to find members to round out a lineup”. Shortly after, he was joined by Logan Clinkingbeard, James Amos, and Noah Townsend to form the band. And last month, the band returned with their first release of the year – their brand new single My Parade.
Opening the track is a vibrant synth-led instrumental that brings you into the sonic world of the song. With an enchanting and captivating soundscape, the track features a perfect blend of comforting and pulsating percussive beats, and indie-rock led melodies, that ripple and resonate further with each riff, and weave their way throughout the track. Delivering their signature eclectic sound and energy, My Parade adds a new layer to their sonic style and artistry. With an overarching indie, pop-rock led instrumentation, the track leans upon rhythmic and generic influences from across dream pop, shoegaze and soft-rock. A perfect summer anthem, the track draws you further into its sonic dreamscape with its nostalgic and sentimental edge.
Talking about the track, songwriter and Brady Lynch shares:
“We want to create a world with the same mentality of how we want to exist in the real world. We want to create open, progressive, and diverse music for people from all walks of life to find something of solace in.”
