Nolie – ‘Think Back’

“I’m not mad it’s just hard sometimes”

Back with his first release of the year; today, rising Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Nolan Feldpausch, better know by his artist name Nolie, delivered his latest new offering in the form of his brand new and highly anticipated summer track – Think BackA fantastic start to another year in music for the talented artist, Think Back is the latest taste of Nolie’s vibrant sound and style, following him heading out of quarantine with a handful of singles and incredible new music for us to hear. Going from strength to strength since his emergence onto the music scene back in 2019, Nolie has already racked up over 4 million streams on Spotify alone. Showcasing a new side to his diverse and eclectic artistry, Think Back is certainly not one to miss.

A dazzling and melodic, up-tempo summer hit; Think Back instantly draws listeners into the glimmering soundscape with its catchy feel-good melody, one that will leave you wanting to keep it playing on repeat. With a bubbly indie-pop led vibe, featuring some synth and electro elements, the track kicks off with a rhythmic and melodic instrumental filled with pulsing synths and bouncy percussive beats. Bringing us into a bright and etherical sonic world, the song delivers a relatable narrative all about Nolie’s existential dread as he looks back on his childhood and teen years, delviered through his skilled and honeyed vocals.

“’Think Back’ was one of the last songs my producer Christofi and I had initially written while under quarantine restrictions. He had sent me a few beats and this one really stuck out immediately/ made me want to live out my electronic Empire Of The Sun dreams. The verses were the first thing that came, which for me usually I like to dive straight into hooks and the chorus but there was just so much room for energy and the song felt very visual for me. The hook is what took the longest to land on. We ended up re-tracking and writing the melody to all of that part once we were back in in-person sessions. Being back in-person has helped so much with just being able to start ideas from scratch and bounce things off of one another more naturally, I missed that a lot. I think in these next few records we’ve finished you can feel this sense of warmth and joy to it all”.
