Sarpa Salpa have unleashed their magnetic new single ‘Another Life’ ahead of their upcoming sophomore EP, which is due in April. This alt-pop anthem is effortlessly upbeat, featuring captivating guitar riffs, shimmering synths and driving beats. Against a grooving bassline, soaring vocals deliver infectious melodies and authentic lyrics about an unrequited love. ‘Another Life’ demonstrates exactly why Sarpa Salpa are poised to be the next big thing in the indie world.
Speaking of the meaning behind their new release, the band revealed: “‘Another Life’ tackles the idea of being completely head over heels in love with somebody, devoting everything to them. However, despite the warning signs, you cannot bring yourself to admit that your love is unrequited, your optimism outweighing what you know – that you’ll never quite have the love you’re giving reciprocated.”
Midlands’ hailing five-piece Sarpa Salpa first took their local scene by storm, and now their following is blooming across the UK. They secured a slot at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend virtual festival in 2020, and have achieved significant radio success with regular plays from BBC Radio 1 and Radio X. Earning the PPL Momentum Music Fund in December last year, their forthcoming EP is funded by the PRS Foundation, PPL and Spotify UK amongst others. We’ll be rinsing ‘Another Life’ whilst we wait impatiently for Sarpa Salpa’s next record.
