Second Language releases upbeat new 2024 remix of ‘Swing Time’

Los Angeles-based alternative rock band Second Language, renowned for their eclectic mix of post-punk and new wave influences, has just unveiled an exhilarating new remix of their classic track ‘Swing Time.’ Released on February 29th under Alternator Records, this fresh take on the song infuses a vibrant energy that breathes new life into the band’s storied sound. Known for their dynamic live performances and innovative studio work, Second Language’s latest release promises to captivate both longtime fans and new listeners alike.

Reflecting on the remix, Jessie Jacobson, the band’s charismatic figurehead who came out as a trans woman in 2002, shares her insights, “We wrote ‘Swing Time’ in 1988 about a romantic relationship gone wrong. This version was recorded in 1992 for our album ‘WrongSpeak,’ which was released in 1996. It was remixed in 2024 in Dolby Atmos by Michael James for a single release. The new remix breathes fresh life into the song, hopefully making it resonate with both longtime fans and new listeners.
