Shakota cannot be pinned into one genre. Sprinkles of Mac Miller, Bakar, Tyler the Creator and Steve Lacy can all be found in his music with his own touch and execution. His latest offering comes in the form of single ‘TOO FAST.’ The track has a minimal but effective, groovy drum beat that reverberates energy around the track. He creates his own wall of tranquil noise with soft vocals, synths and guitars providing stripped back and ambient, alongside irresistible choruses. Speaking further, he says: “I wanted to experiment with two completely different sections, I think it creates a really interesting contrast.”
With his first release being in 2020, we feel the step up is clear. The young artist is clearly carving his own sound, his own identity and his own path in the music industry and it’s one to watch.
