The man behind Skizerzz is Oliver Skirrow, a British singer-songwriter and rapper who has shown a great deal of lyrical talent. During the pandemic lockdowns Skirrow honed in his skills and created his first original music and has since been growing a fanbase with an ever expanding discograhy. ‘Here I Go Again’ has risen to well over a hundred thousand streams and ‘Trust Fall’ has been added to Spotify editorial playlist ‘Fresh Finds UK & IE’.
The latest track from Skizerzz is the acoustic heart-breaker ‘Just The Other Night’, a song captures those late night feelings of melancholy and loneliness. Instrumentally a comforting ukulele is on chords and simple lo-fi drums are brought in alongside it. This sparse instrumentation echoes the empty emotions and numbness portrayed by our performers, with both Skizerzz and collaborator jack david bringing flowing vocal deliveries.
The artist shares, “This song was created in both artists’ home studios who met online. It depicts a situation where a person is going above and beyond to try and make a relationship work but the other person doesn’t care. It also describes the feeling of regret from wasting all their energy on that person and saying it’ll never happen again.”
