Pop talent Sloane Monroe is back with ‘Magnetic’, a vivid floor-filler with Y2K nostalgia crossing with boundary-pushing production. Following the earlier release ‘Clueless’, it continues to send Sloane down a path of innovative alt-pop with a strong voice.
‘Magnetic’ pulsates with seductive energy, with a bass-heavy dance groove and polished top lines supporting a fierce lyrical edge. It was originally composed as a looped solo violin piece when Sloane was just 15, but the song was reimagined after Monroe rediscovered its possibility as a dark-pop banger. She explains, “The instrumental was always sexy, seductive, and a bit dark, so I wanted to write a tune that reflected that energy. I wanted to write a tune that girls could strut down a runway or stumble down the pavement to. I use this tune to remind myself that I’m confident, hot, and powerful. I hope it makes others feel the same way.”
With a multi-genre and multi-disciplinary background, Monroe’s creative evolution truly began after a move to London seven years ago. Diverse influences, genre-bending intentions and strong collaborations bolster her sound.
‘Magnetic’ now marks another step forward for Monroe, in what was already set to be a breakout 2025. Confident, empowering and totally addictive.
