t.e.d has had a whirlwind couple of years. Her music has received critical acclaim from tastemakers, and she’s already developed a fantastic fanbase. Her signature and much-loved sound sees her merge contemporary with new. The likes of Daniel Caesar, beabadoobe and Rainbow Kitten Surprise inform her music, but these are all placed into tracks with her unique touch.
Her latest single “Let Me Be” is an immersive new offering. The track manages to blend soul and pop sensibilities together. The foundation of the track features impactful piano chords and grooving drum parts. Whilst on top, her angelic vocals land softly and takes centre stage, working hand in glove with emotional lyrics.
Speaking about the track, she says: “‘Let Me Be’ follows the process of realising someone isn’t good for you, and the eventual demise in a relationship begging to end. It represents a moment when I realised someone had created a toxic space for me, and the process of having to fight my way out before we could both let go. ‘Let Me Be’ is inspired by the human ability to change, and the battle we wage within ourselves to change things for the better.”
