Back with the third single off of their upcoming fifth studio album, Cherry Blossom, set to be released later this month; today, The Vamps released their newest single, Better. Giving us a further glimpse into the sound of Cherry Blossom, Better finds the group delivering another incredibly catchy anthem, with up-tempo 80s inspired synth-pop beats.
“I won’t settle for less than best, we can do better than this.”
Tinged with electro-pop elements, alongside an 80s throwback kind of production; the track maintains the same overarching sonic vibe that we are getting from Cherry Blossom so far, and continues with the same guitar elements and full-bodied drum beats that we experienced on the previous singles.
All about not settling for anything other than the best; when talking about the track, lead singer Brad explains “Better is a song set in the context of a relationship, about not settling for less than you feel you deserve. Falling out of love but not forgetting the reason you fell into it and working hard to get back there.”
In addition the single release, the band also dropped the brand new visuals for the track today. In keeping with 2020 lockdown vibes, the video is minimal, with the focus placed on the band alone. With vibrant colours – highly in keeping with the Cherry Blossom aesthetic – a stunning pink hue, and vintage-esque ensembles – the perfect compliment to the 80s influence on the track – the visuals are simple, energetic, and the absolute perfect compliment to the single.
The follow on from Married and Vegas and Chemicals; with each new release, the band continue to show off a new and exciting sound and aesthetic to accompany the upcoming album, and this new era of The Vamps.
