Tom Cherry reveals emotive debut EP ‘The Real’

Essex-hailing singer-songwriter reigniting the emotion of fireside acoustic anthems, Tom Cherry looks to the challenges of modern life and internal struggle to deliver his music.

His debut release, The Real EP, highlights all the talent he has to offer. Brutally honest, pained and melancholic, the initial tracks, ‘Danger To Myself’ and ‘Dusk’. They lay the foundations for the third track ‘Midnight Train’, which brings a sense of love and positivity back to the project. Over a gorgeous acoustic moment, Tom’s vocals are raw and unfiltered, offering an honest clarity to the modest romance he has to offer.

As that track rises into a momentous climax. The next continues the themes, ‘Kiss For The Road’ bringing in ethereal keys and twinkling synth subtlety as Tom pours his heart into the music, his devotion at the very centre.

‘Man of the House’ is a beautiful ending for the project, Tom takes charge of his own emotions in an ode to growing up. He lets both the good times and the bad times carry him forward, holding the listener close as he rounds out the EP with passion. One to watch, Tom Cherry.

Tom explains the overarching themes of the project, “I wrote the record over a 6 month period and was really proud of it. This first project is an artistic collage where the songs show a mixture of struggle and joy – stories for the everyday person.”
