‘Perfect Sense’ is Trevy James’ fourth track of 2024. It’s one in which he brings soulful vocals, warming instrumentation and a twinkling love in every tone. That’s no surprise, as Trevy shares that the track first arrived in the early days of his relationship with his now fiancé. He continues, “I woke up one morning at her place with the main “you make perfect sense to me” tag in my head. I sat down at the piano to feverishly craft the rest and have loved performing and recording it ever since. The song truly captures the pure swell of emotions that arise when you finally come together with that one soul who just plain makes sense.”
With that knowledge, all the joyful, clear skies vibrance of the track falls into place. There’s something about the vintage-tinged arrangement that lends itself to that feeling of timelessness and passion, Trevy delivering a masterful vocal that pulls the best out of every small change in the instrumentation.
The San Diego-based Berklee College of Music graduate grooves through strings of keys and rhythmic drums.
