Rising indie alt-pop artist VAVÁ delivers her latest new release, her brand new single Wild Thing.
Los Angeles based, Brazilian-American, songwriter and guitarist VAVÁ -Vanessa Wheeler – is back with her brand new single Wild Thing. Her second single of 2020, following on from When The Lights Go Out; her musical journey this year picks up from her 2018 release The Other Side, that blends together a fusion of guitar-focused, progressive pop and rock music. Turning heads with her enigmatic artistry; over the past few years, she has been steadily garnering attention and critical acclaim, already reaching over 52k streams on Spotify alone.
Introducing the track is a steady and rhythmic rock-led guitar line that runs throughout. Drawing upon gentle pop-rock influences, the instrumentation is vibrant and dynamic, hooking listeners in from the very first note. With a more mellow and slightly stripped back soundscape; Vavá’s vocals are a stand out feature on the sonic landscape; adding a new layer of emotion and sentiment to the track.
Talking about the song and the meaning behind it, VAVÁ explains:
“A love song and compassionate plea to the wild part of myself that I tend to keep hidden, this song blatantly refers to sexual desire, and I am asking myself to come into my own or the wild thing might consume me.”
