Will Purdue is back with a new offering ‘Missing Piece.’ An offering that showcases his different musical sides as an artist. The song has a Country-fuelled facade but has a nod to a more rocky element also. It is backed up with his signature smoky vocals that present his well-penned lyrics.
Sharing the inspiration for the song, Will Purdue shares: “I have a photo in my mind, with a riverbank just before dark, and that was the setting. The song is about someone stuck there, unable to accept what they’ve lost.”
Elaborating further on the recording process, he also reveals:
“It was a beautiful studio, with the sun beating down, full of natural light and surrounded by good friends. We’d actually planned to do a live session, but ended up changing focus, with this being a new one that none of the others had heard. It was one of the easiest, fun sessions ever, with all of us coming just out of lockdown, so there was a gratefulness and just a huge excitement to be getting together to do what we love.”
Based in London but originally from Winchester, UK, Will creates spellbinding melodies that evoke emotion deep down. Describing the music creation process, Will says: “I think everyone needs a way to process emotion, and whether it’s listening or writing, music has always been the most essential thing for me to handle life.”
