Tunnel is back as he looks to release his emphatic new electronic project ‘Personas’, fresh off the back of teaser single ‘Control’, released earlier in the summer. Landing between the crossroads of electronic sound design and dance music, the artist employs an array of intensive, masterful production techniques.
Featuring ten tracks, ‘Personas’ sees Tunnel offer his most outreaching work yet, leaning into a vast array of sounds and styles that give him a distinctive vibrance. The project stands its ground as both gritty and intense, labeling him as a defiant icon who is bound to produce more and more brilliance.
Explaining the influences and processes behind the release, Tunnel explains, “With Personas, I wanted to break free from the constraints of a specific genre and create something that reflects the range of my musical obsessions, while building a narrative throughout,” says Tunnel. “The album reflects something that doesn’t fit into a neat and easily described box. It’s a sonic journey, shifting and evolving like a living entity, all in the service of emotion and a narrative of personal transformation. It’s equal parts dystopian and hopeful. I love music that refuses to play by the rules of specific genres, and Personas is my way of embracing that ethos.”
